What Is The Weekend's Message?

Each message series is carefully designed with real people in mind: people looking for answers to issues they face everyday. At Vintage, we’re teaching timeless truths from the Bible that speak to where you’re currently at in your family, career, finances and relationship with God. If it’s real life and important today, you can be sure we’re talking about it in ways that don’t require an understanding of the Bible or theology.

YES, WE MEET AT A SCHOOL.

Sounds weird right? We promise to surprise you.

YOUR LIFE IS YOUR GROUP

Groups are a great way to make new friends and at the same time grow in your relationship with God. Our groups are as varied as we are; whatever the age, interest, or location, there are groups actively forming that is just right for you. New groups start and stop three times a year—Spring, Summer and Fall semesters.

We Exist to Love EVERYONE towards a GROWING relationship with Christ. Consider getting involved in one of the ways below.

Jesus: Only Jesus Gives Life

I am the way, the truth, and the LIFE. No one can come to the Father except through Me. – John 14:6

The Bible is clear that Jesus is the only way to salvation. He alone can forgive sin and give us a fresh start. Salvation is a free gift that we receive through faith in the finished work of Jesus. God loves you. He made you. He died for you. And He wants you to know the LIFE He created you for.

1. God loves you. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal LIFE. John 3:16

2. God has a plan for your life. I came that they may have LIFE and have it abundantly. John 10:10

3. Your sin separates you from God:For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

4. The penalty for your sin is death. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal LIFE in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

5. Jesus paid the penalty for you. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

6. You can accept Jesus' free gift of Grace right now. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Did you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior? If you repented of your sin and surrendered your life to Jesus, you've just made the greatest decision of your life. You're a completely new person (see 2 Corinthians 5:17). You're forgiven, adopted, and now nothing can separate you from God. When you die, you'll be in the presence of Jesus in Heaven.

But that's just part of the good news. This is the beginning of an incredible adventure. Because of Him, you can now live the LIFE you were created for. That life is a daily relationship with Jesus - and it's all about knowing Him, growing in His truth and love, and impacting others for His name's sake. You need to find a healthy church where you can grow - and we invite you to come check out Vertical this Sunday. Just take your first step...we'll help you the rest of the way.

MORE ABOUT JESUS

S.O.A.P.

Developing a quiet time with God

What is S.O.A.P.?

At Vintage Church, our desire is that every believer would not just attend church, but also hear from God daily through His Word. As we read the Bible, we begin to see how God responds and provides direction. Doing daily devotions repatterns the way we think, transforms the spirit of our mind, and helps us become more like Jesus.

S.O.A.P. journaling is a simple and excellent way to both record and process what God has spoken to you. It’s also a useful tool to use at a later time when you want to reflect on and review some of the ‘gems’ that you have received. Without writing them down, you may forget those blessings and important lessons!

Furthermore, while journaling is a very personal time with the Lord, you may want to share some of your daily journaling with your Epic Group or spouse, so having a written record becomes very important. Through discussion, you may be able to look deeper into what God is speaking to you, gain new insight, and even encourage others.

How to S.O.A.P.

S – SCRIPTURE

Open your Bible to your reading for the day. Take time reading and allow God to speak to you. When you are done, look for a verse that particularly spoke to you that day, and write it in your journal.

O – OBSERVATION

What do you think God is saying to you in this scripture? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you.

A – APPLICATION

Personalize what you have read, by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Perhaps it is instruction, encouragement, a new promise, or corrections for a particular area of your life. Write how this scripture can apply to you today.

P – PRAYER

This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this scripture, or even a prayer for a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say! Now, write it out.

Below are some Bible Reading Plans we suggest for you to start with.  All of these are on the Youversion Bible App.  You can simply access the plan in your web browser or you can download the App on your mobile device and grab the plans in the app.

BAPTISM

I have decided.

At Vintage, we take baptism seriously. It is important to us because it was important to Jesus. Jesus himself was baptized to lead the way in teaching us how to go public with our faith. We believe that baptism is a public sign of an inward change, we want everyone to be there to celebrate. This is a very special Sunday in our church, and we want to make sure that no one misses this great opportunity to gather together as we watch lives change.
